My Fearless Year
My Fearless Year. It was this time last year I decided to leave my Corporate Career. I was watching the BBC Annual Review which included the Pausitivity Poster Campaign led by Elizabeth Ellis and Clare Sheppard.
I was going to be 50 in 2020. So my word of the year ( I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions) was going to be Fearless. Little did I know in December how Fearless I would need be in 2020…
January – Left Career…
So in the first week of January 2020 I left my Career and created the Women’s Fearless Coaching Company. I created a Business Plan to take my “Side Hustle” into a full time business plan. Also began writing my book again which I started on my commutes to London…
February – Headed to New York…
I headed off to New York with my best friend to attend the Oprah Winfrey 2020 Vision Tour. The special guest was Michelle Obama. We wrote our 2020 aspirations in the workbook along with a very packed arena of motivated women. My aspirations are still the same. I just had to take a different route than the one planned…
March – In a Spanish Lock Down…
Part of my aspiration is to have a second home in Spain. So in March I headed off to get my paperwork organised. Two days into the trip and I was “locked down” in an apartment with the BBC News! Spent the first day working out how I could get home. Spent the rest of the time working on a new business plan and furloughing my hospitality business…
April – The arrival of Zoom…
Back in the UK the world had moved to Zoom for all interactions now lockdown was upon us. April was the month of Networking with ABC Kent, Costa Women and FSB all moving their events online. Also had the launch of Athena Westminster. So proud to be a founding member with some amazing women although we have never met in person…
May – My First Clients…
I had the pleasure of working with my first group of clients. Coaching the content of my MidLife Resilience System with them was an absolute pleasure. To see them take back control of their hormones and start to build their business was amazing. They supported each other and said to me “it is great to be part of a community of like-minded women”. It was then I created The Women in Business MidLife Club so I could coach more women.
June – A new idea…
I created phase 2 with The Women in Business MidLife Club to Keep Women In Business Through Change & Growth. I wanted women in business to not just manage their hormones but grow through the process. As women we have more opportunities than our mothers and grandmothers. But working through our hormone transitions brings its own challenges – 40 of them to be precise…
July – My 50th arrives…
Well my 50th Birthday was now upon me so Fearless I had to be. Not the birthday celebration I had planned but then It was not the year I had planned. I had a wonderful birthday even with the restrictions and spent time with family and friends. I was Fearless to 50 and created my company to Keep Women in Business Through Change & Growth. So now I had to ensure the Club was ready to launch in November…
August – Headed to the Beach…
I do what I always do and go to the sea for inspiration. Spent a week in Cornwall writing the materials for the Club along with a little surfing and running. Finally had a delivery plan for the Club. Decided to put a webinar on for World Menopause Day along with Tracey Tait and Fiona Catchpowle. Also created my own branded gym wear – still working on the final design for launch in 2021. Still being Fearless even after 50…
September – Not Ibiza but Canterbury…
Had a fun photoshoot with my Clients to build the brand materials for the Club. We turned up with our suitcases looking like we were off to Ibiza – if only we were allowed! I had the pleasure of appearing as part of the Pausitive Living Menopause Series ahead of World Menopause Day. We talked about keeping fit through menopause with Fitness to 50. It was such an honour to be part of this campaign…
October – World Menopause Day…
This my version of Christmas! For me World Menopause Day is an opportunity to share (not moan) about how PeriMenopuase and Menopause impact Women in Business. We were joined by amazing women on our webinar who bravely shared their stories. Yet again listening to these women in business talk about their experience in the workplace I knew I made the right decision to leave my career.
November – The Launch…
We did it! The Women In Business MidLife Club launched and I now have the opportunity to coach more Women In Business. Despite a second lockdown all coaching, networking and masterclasses are online on a platform away from Social Media. With Zoom and my PT App I go live with Group Strength Training Sessions… Finally Women in Business have a place where they can obtain the skills and knowledge to take ownership of their PeriMenopause|Menopause|PostMenopause Transition and continue to lead themselves, family and business through change and growth.
December – My Fearless Year…
My Fearless Year – not the year I had planned. But the year that I was Fearless to 50 & Beyond. Despite everything that has happened this year I remained focused on my Vision and Aspirations. Yes the route has changed many times but my purpose to Keep Women in Business Through Change & Growth is much stronger than the circumstances I found myself in some days.
So as 2020 closes I say goodbye to Fearless and hello to Stronger my word for 2021. Stronger to Keep Women in Business Through Change & Growth with the exciting projects I have planned for 2021…
It leaves me to say have a Happy New Year and let me know what your Word is for 2021…
